"Coastal Line"
Coastal Line, is a study of the boundary where the sea meets the land. This same boundary was the starting point for the design of the Cove Boot — the line between functional footwear and a dressier everyday shoe.
The boot takes from an outdoor, utilitarian shape, now reinterpreted in leather for everyday wear. In the campaign, we looked at the boundary between outdoor and indoor space, bringing the atmosphere of the port into an interior setting.
We approached the space as a quiet installation. We worked in an architectural studio still under construction; its raw imperfections and unfinished surfaces evoked the atmosphere of the port area we wanted to capture. Weathered walls and rough textures recalled the subtle wear of salt and sea, turning the space’s flaws into defining features that became part of the story itself.
The objects we introduced — fishing nets, wooden pallets, and ropes — were not used to recreate a literal scene, but to suggest the presence of the sea in a subtle way. Their placement creates an understated connection between the environment and the boot — a reminder of where the shape began and how it has now shifted into a new context.
